TheCocoCard

Digital loyalty for independent businesses

A digital loyalty platform where a customer keeps one card across local independents while every business runs its own separate rewards programme. Business back-office, customer web app, staff till flow and a native app, all built and run by the studio.

AadhiPixels product, designed, built and operated by the studio.

Context

Independent businesses want the repeat-visit tools that chains have, without an app install, without commission on sales and without handing their customer list to a third party. Customers do not want a wallet full of paper stamp cards.

Scope

  • Product design and interface design across customer, staff and business surfaces
  • Business back-office web app and customer progressive web app (Next.js)
  • Staff till flow for recording visits and issuing rewards
  • Native mobile app (Flutter)
  • Two Firebase backends with environment separation
  • Cross-app Playwright end-to-end tests, deployed on Vercel and Firebase

What works

  • One card and QR for the customer, with a separate rewards programme at every business
  • Runs in the browser, so customers do not need to download anything to join
  • Join QR for new members and a separate counter QR for recording visits at the till
  • Businesses keep their own branding and their own customer list
  • Stamps, rewards, offers and customer records in one dashboard

Design and build decisions

  • Separate rewards per business rather than a shared points pool, so a coffee stamp can never be spent at a barber
  • A web app first, then a native app, so a customer can join in seconds at the counter
  • Demo mode with example data built into the product, which is what the captures on this page show

Honest limitations

  • Customer numbers, visit counts and revenue are not published here; the studio does not quote traction it cannot evidence
  • Pricing and plans are managed on thecococard.com and are not part of this site
